About T.D. Nair Hospital

T.D. Nair Hospital, opened in 1949 by Dr. T.D. Nair in Anaimalai, Pollachi (50 km from Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu), has successfully served the community for 75 years. The hospital provides essential healthcare services, particularly for bedridden, elderly, terminally ill cancer patients, and stroke patients. Understanding the challenges many patients face in traveling to distant hospitals, we bring medical care directly.

Dr. T.D. Nair founded T.D. Nair Hospital in Anaimalai in 1949, operating from rented premises until 1965. At that time, there were no other medical practitioners in Anaimalai or the surrounding rural areas of Pollachi Taluk. Dr. Nair was a busy general practitioner, also performing surgeries, deliveries, and Caesarean sections.

In 1966, the hospital moved to its present location on Pollachi Main Road. By 1969, Dr. Nair’s son, Dr. C.P. Muralidharan, joined the practice and continued it until 2004. Dr. C.P. Muralidharan semi-retired, and his son, Dr. Vikram Muralidharan, and daughter-in-law, Dr. Rashmi Sree Nair, took over the practice.

Today, Dr. T.D. Nair Hospital is a successful 30-bed multispecialty hospital. In 2017, Dr. Vikram Muralidharan renovated and modernized the hospital, upgrading the operation theater, patient rooms, labor room, pharmacy, laboratory, and adding consulting rooms for visiting doctors. The hospital has been serving the community for over 75 years.
